The City of Mumbai has been constructing Metro Lines 1 and 2 and a Monorail. In order to further improve service, the City recently decided to proceed with construction of Metro Line 3. The purpose of this consultancy project is to carry out in advance activities required for the smooth implementation of a new 33 km metro construction project, i.e., contractor selection and construction supervision. These consulting services will include determination of the alignment and station locations, preliminary design of underground tunnel and stations, a soil testing survey, and tender document preparation. The consulting services were commenced in June 2012 and will be completed in October 2018.
