Data Collection Survey on Connectivity Enhancement

Roads and Highways
Southeast and South Asia
Client Japan International Cooperation Agency
Country・Area Myanmar
This survey project was initiated against the backdrop of the “Japan-Mekong Connectivity Initiative”. The Initiative was agreed upon in July 2016 between the Government of Japan and the countries of the Mekong Region to enhance connectivity within the latter. The objective of the Survey was to make recommendations for connectivity enhancement by analyzing the connectivity issues from physical (roads, ports, airports) and institutional (CIQ, CBTA) standpoints. The Survey also aimed to facilitate discussions toward the potential involvement of Japanese assistance to enhance connectivity in Myanmar and other countries in the Mekong Region. It was executed across the Greater Mekong Subregion (which includes Vietnam, Laos, Thailand and Cambodia).
