JICA-Net is a distance technical cooperation project promoted by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). It is a new scheme for international cooperation to complement JICA's technical cooperation that uses a wide range of information and communication technologies, such as video conferencing, multimedia contents and internet applications. JICA-Net Distance seminars are videoconferencing seminars that are implemented by connecting with overseas video conference facilities. This system gives people opportunities to participate in seminars even when experts cannot be sent to that location. It also provides the opportunity to choose between lectures from a wide variety of fields. JICA-Net producers coordinate the whole process of designing, preparing, implementing and evaluating distance seminars based on user’s needs. PADECO also coordinates with lecturers, arranged interpreters and connection methods, and facilitated in seminars.
